FULL NAME: Mira Katherine Manette
NICK NAME: Her name is Mira but, on the streets, she is “Kit”
NAME ETYMOLOGY: Mira means either “behold” or “admirable” (Latin America) or “bitter” (Hebrew). Katherine means “pure” (English and Greek) and Kit means “hopeful” (Greek).
AGE: Nineteen
BIRTHDAY: December 7th

BIRTHPLACE: A small town in the Alliance
OCCUPATION: As Mira, she is a respectable gardener in the Palace. As “Kit”, she is a card-player and an actress.
MARITAL STATUS: She was engaged to a man whom she had never met and had no desire to meet and consequently fled her town to come to the Alliance. So, yes, she is still engaged, but in her mind, she is single.

HAIR COLOR: Has slightly curly long hair the color of chestnuts.
HEIGHT: 5’4”
WEIGHT: About 118 lbs., but Mira herself is unsure.
OVERALL APPEARANCE:
Slender and slightly petite, with mismatched green and gray eyes that flash with all the thunder and lightning of a storm when she is angry and gleam with mirth when she is amused, pleased, or happy. Her hair is a rich brown that slightly curls. Mira wears her hair either loose down her back or casually pinned up to the crown of her head. As “Kit”, she wears her hair in a braid. She is rather pale, with slender hands and feet and a delicate looking face.
During the day, Mira usually wears a long blue harem-style pants with a cream colored blouse and a bronze colored belt off of which hangs her purse, keys, knife, and other items. She also wears a knife tucked under her neckline on a black leather cord that hangs around her neck.
At night, she wears long black pants and a violet shirt with a plum-colored tunic. She always wears sturdy black boots and a silver necklace with a matching bracelet off of which hangs a large locket and cameo of her mother.

STRENGTHS: Perseverance, Stubbornness, Intuition (she can tell if someone is lying to her. Well, at least most of the time), Adaptability, and Kindness.
WEAKNESSES: Impatience, Skittishness, Jealousy, Sarcasm, and Klutziness.
LIKES: Bravery and courage in a person, appreciates honesty, she wants to act on a stage more than anything in the world, she wants to make a name for herself, and she likes cats. In fact, she has one named Nathan.
DISLIKES: Mira dislikes laziness, in herself and others. She hates to sing or be nice to people whom she dislikes. She dislikes not getting her way as well as to be forced to do things that she doesn’t want to do.
FEARS: Drowning, the dark, marriage and commitment, and her father.
QUIRKS: When she’s surprised or amused, she will raise one eyebrow and not the other. She loves to dance. Mira has a weakness for chocolate. She also has a tendency to overreact.
PERSONALITY:
While easily hurt both emotionally or physically, Mira always finds a way to pick herself back up. There is plenty to dislike or laugh at in Mira, but there are always her good traits: Loyalty, perseverance, and kindness. Often times, what Mira wants in a person is everything that she herself lacks.
When first met, she comes off as sarcastic and bitter. Her past has made her this way. She fears her father for good reason, as he tried to marry her off to an unknown man for money. She did not have a happy life and wanted to leave her town to find the life that she feels she deserves.
In addition, there is nothing that Mira wants more from life than to act. As Kit, she finds her way onto stage and adapts a personality and character not her own in order to escape from her troubled past.

PARENT'S RELATIONSHIP: The mother is deceased.
BIOGRAPHY:
Born in the small town house of a relatively well-to-do family, Mira spent her early years under the wing of a kind mother, Katherine, and a not-so-kind father, Fredrick. However, her father’s presence didn’t entirely register with a young Mira, as Fredrick was so often out of town. When Mira was seven, her mother passed away after giving birth to twins, Sarah Melissa and Sadie Miranda. After Katherine’s death, Mira’s father returned home and became a more constant presence, although he lolled in wine as a result of his depression after Katherine’s death. Because Katherine died while giving birth to Sarah and Sadie, he blamed them for their misfortune as the family slowly sank into poverty as a result of his alcoholism. Mira was left at the age of ten to take the unappreciated role as mediator between her father and sisters.
As Mira grew older, her father began to reconcile himself to Katherine’s death and, in turn, began to warm towards the twins. Soon, Fredrick began to make plans for the family’s climb out of poverty. When Mira turned seventeen, the twins being ten at the time, Fredrick came up with what he believed to be the perfect plan for an ascent into wealth. He arranged for Mira to wed the wealthiest man who would accept her, Jonathan Essex, who lived on a small estate outside of the town. Having never met Jonathan, Mira secretly met with a troupe of players who were currently residing in her town and made arrangements to flee the town with them. After begging a neighbor to look after her sisters, Mira fled with the acting troupe the night where she was supposed to have met Jonathan and confirmed the engagement.
