Ophelia Ophelia sank into a curtsey as she entered before throwing her hood away from her pale face. "You called for me, my lord?" she asked, looking up at the dark figure reclining in the large throne.

King Zagan
Her response did not come from the throne, as the shadow cast there was simply a trick of the king. "Ophelia," his voice was low and rocky. He slunk from his side chambers, and over to her. "I would prefer a little more discresion next time you are asked here," if there was a next time.
He moved dangerously close to her, close enough his body heat grazed her. "After all," he growled lowly. "What if it were not me you announced yourself to?" he passed her to take his seat in the throne and look down upon her. "Filthy mixblood as you are," he continued. "Most would as soon kill you as look as you."

Ophelia Ophelia swallowed her pride. "Whatever you request, m'lord. Privately, she shuddered at the way he described her: "Mixblood." Summing up all of her infirmities in one painless word. She had been Marina, once, but that was a great deal of time ago. "Would you prefer me to be a whole human?" she asked despite her fear. "It is simple for me to mingle with that kind; you have asked me before. What is not so simple, m'lord, is for me to walk into a common bar without attack. Perhaps their kind is more forgiving than ours."

King Zagan
He thought for some time, having no immediate response to her question; though his answer was most likely not what she had hoped. "Though I would prefer that you were one or the other, your filthy heritage does come in use." He looked her over, with a scornful look.
"You are very useful when it comes to infiltrating the other Kingdoms," he stood up quickly.

Ophelia "That is true," answered Ophelia. "I have done well in the past, have I not?"

King Zagan He ignored her statement, as it brought him no more information than he already knew and no sort of amusement. "Therefore," he concluded. "There is no need to change who you are, so long as you are still loyal to this side," he chuckled to himself of the thought of this woman, so humble even by human standards, would be a double agent.
In fact the notion was so amusing to him he began to audibly laugh. Though the outburst was short lived, he waved it away as though it was a pesky fly about his marmalade.

Ophelia Ophelia bit her lip. "I am loyal."

King Zagan
He snorted. "I know," he said shortly. No one would be foolish enough to upset him, the Demon King, he was among the most brutal of the leaders. He cleared his throat and then stared her down, lifting himself up to his full height then letting himself fold once more into himself.
There was a rough knock on the door as one of his demon servants called on him. He looked at Opehlia and ushered her into a side closet before admitting the demon. He kept him far enough that the half-breed in the closet could not hear their discussion.

Ophelia She of all people knew better than to be offended at such treatment; after all, he was the king and she was a nobody. No, lower than a nobody, for that was the way of such things. But it was a good thing that he knew she was loyal. Ophelia knew more than she was comfortable with about what sorts of things happened to those who the king mistrusted: Ghastly things, not worthy of remembering.
Elven, should I RP the servant?

(No, he's only gonna be there one more post.)
King Zagan
He growled lowly, a noise loud enough to reach Ophelia in the hidden room. "Put him in the hold," he said and turned his back to the demon that had interrupted his conversation with the mix-breed.
Once the worm left he went slowly to where he had stowed Opehilia and let her out. "Now where were we?" he asked, nonchalant about the interruption.
