Twiggy Having seen the second beast he decided that now it was time to intervene. He called on Ziva first.
The bird alighted from the branch and straight towards one of the beast, screeching loudly and talons out stretched. She hit the one that was attacking from the back. The talons scrapped at the beast's eyes. The second beast, repelled some by the fire retreated but not far enough. He growled lowly upon seeing his mate in trouble and lunged for the bird.
There was a rough noise, as Twiggy jumped from the nearer tree he had perched on while Ziva was attacking. He tackled the first beast and knocked him over. He shoved a short dagger into its neck as he caught it off guard. The animal expired with a yelp and a sigh.
The other one, now blinded, heard its dying mate, and fled into the forest, howling in agony and sadness for the loss of its mate.
Now that he was covered in blood he stood up and looked to the woman in the tree. "Put that fire out," he said gruffly.

Mira Mira stared at the man for a few moments then determinedly stomped the flame out under her boots. Yanking her knifes out of the tree trunk and depositing back where they were supposed to be, she extended and hand, saying, "My name is Mira." After all, he had saved her life hadn't he?

Twiggy
He wiped the blood off his knife on his pants leg, put it back in its sheath and then looked at the woman, who was apparently named Mira. "Twiggy," he responded shortly putting his arm out to catch the bird that had provided his cover.
Ziva landed gently and hopped up his arm to perch on his shoulder. She stared at Mira, and then after puffing herself up she let out a sigh of air and then settled down again.
"Now do you see what I mean?" he asked. "It's not safe for you to be parading around the forest, especially if you're enept at taking care of yourself."

Mira Mira squared her shoulders and opened her mouth to argue against his observation of her fighting skills, but thought better of it. "I can fight anything that walks on two legs and has the decency to wear clothes," she said instead. "I'm not... familiar with the beasts of your forests."

Twiggy
He arched an eyebrow and clenched his jaw at her response. "Anything with two legs?" he asked.
In a quick second he had pulled two daggers out, one for each hand and was staring at her. "Fight me then," he nearly growled the words. This girl was irritating him. Beasts were no different than fighting a bi-ped. After all, you just had to study their tactis and adjust.
At the hostile movements of her master the bird alighted into the trees to hiss from the banches of the nearest tree.

Mira She raised an eyebrow. "Why?" Mira asked mildly, struggling to stay cordial. "I may be able to fight, but I wouldn't necessarily succeed. And I don't think you came out here and saved my life in order to kill me not three minutes after cleaning the beasts' blood off your weapons. I'll fight you, if that is what you insist on, but I don't think you'd improve your life by humiliating me."

Twiggy
He grunted and looked her over before resheathing his daggers. "You're scared of me," he said flatly. It was as much a guess as it was a statement. Though, he sounded rather sure of himself.

Mira "Hardly," she argued. "But you do possess a menacing quality about you, that is, when you're trying to be menacing. You're not bad at all, when you tease one like you did before, and now I know you can tease one so I don't see a big reason to be frightened of you."

Twiggy
He watched her slowly. "It would do you well to fear the men you meet in the woods, or anywhere estranged from the cities," he growled. He wouldn't bother to mention she should probably fear him. He had no loyalties to anyone but himself, and were he given any reason to, he would betray any sort of trust that he had established between them.

Mira Mira shuddered. "You don't have to tell me anything about avoiding men," she said fervently, thinking of her father and Jonathan.
